The encounter

That year, there was an inter-college basketball tournament. That was where I first met him too. If you think this is a romantic love-at-first-sight story, then you gonna be disappointed. :p

He was in the opponent team against our team. He was a new player then. We didn't expect him to be such a strong player and assisted his team to defeat us in the end. Since then, I quite "hated" him. I hoped that I would not be seeing him in any basketball matches again, especially against our team.

Few months later, I saw him in our college. Oh...how dare him?! Later on, I found out that he had transferred to our college. Did that mean that he gonna represent our team? Hmm...it was not a bad idea! Hehe...

Thereafter, I saw him more often at basketball court, canteen, classroom corridor etc. Finally, we knew each other through a friend. I developed a liking feeling towards him slowly. At the same time, my girl friends also admired him so much that they always tried to find chances to approach him. In order not to be mistaken as fanatic, I tried to keep a safe distance from him. We rarely talked to each other in person but corresponded via emails/ICQ. Typically so near yet so far! :(

I barely remember that we went for movie and lunch once. He did ask for my handphone number but unfortunately I didn't have one. I didn't know how he felt for me at that time because he never said anything to me. So, we remained as friends. Till I was leaving the college, he still didn't take any action. I then concluded that he must have treated me like a friend only. So, I didn't hope for it anymore and moved on. We became e-pal after that and that was when we got closer to each other, closer than we were in college. :)
