Upcoming trip - Macau

So excited...I will be going for a trip early Oct, with my dearest parents, sister and darling. Yeah! :D

Ring (my sister) has booked the air tickets at a damn low price of RM350!! Best deal from Air Asia. Each ticket costs only RM6 for 2 way and the tax/fuel charge is about RM 340. Ring and I sponsor our parents for this trip. In addition, I am also paying for darling as this is his birthday trip. Thanks to Ring's great efforts, I really save a lot of money for that. Also, thanks Air Asia for the promotion. :)

It will be a free & easy trip. So, we gonna arrange the hotel reservation and itinerary on our own. We have made our decision for the hotel. For the itinerary, as the NATAS fair is coming soon, Ring suggested we go to collect some brochures for reference. Haha...exactly my sentiment! Both of us are so cheapskate!! Typical Wong's sisters...Hoho!

Hope this will be a memorable trip for us. :)

Also, be careful with the filename. It only accepts file name with A-Z and 0-9. Symbols in filename is not acceptable. So many restrictions...must improve leh!

The tortoise and the hare

There once was a speedy hare who bragged about how fast he could run. Tired of hearing him boast, Slow and Steady, the tortoise, challenged him to a race. All the animals in the forest gathered to watch.

Hare ran down the road for a while and then and paused to rest. He looked back at Slow and Steady and cried out, "How do you expect to win this race when you are walking along at your slow, slow pace?"

Hare stretched himself out alongside the road and fell asleep, thinking, "There is plenty of time to relax."

Slow and Steady walked and walked. He never, ever stopped until he came to the finish line.

The animals who were watching cheered so loudly for Tortoise, they woke up Hare.

Hare stretched and yawned and began to run again, but it was too late. Tortoise was over the line.

After that, Hare always reminded himself, "Don't brag about your lightning pace, for Slow and Steady won the race!"

I am telling this story to remind myself not to repeat the hare's mistake. Previously, I was like the hare. I always saw the finish line earlier than others but didn't manage to win at last. Why? I was too complacent! My greatest weakness. Now, time to change, Vicky Wong!! You have a very good start. Don't waste it. Work harder, run faster towards the finish line. Win the race. You have lost too many times which you are not supposed to! Now, prove yourself to those who think you can and to those who think you can't! More importantly, prove to yourself.

Spiritual belief

Spiritual belief is so powerful. I don't know how much you believe in that. But, I really think it works for me. Nowadays, I pray 2 times to Guan Yin Buddha everyday, morning and night. I chant a bit too.

Almost 2 months ago, I almost collapsed due to continuous bad luck. I cried very often as my hard work were not paid off. All sorts of problem could occur during that period. I was so helpless. Then, at a crucial timing, I met this person namely C. She told me why I was so unlucky. She advised me to pray more. She lent me a CD of chanting song. She has guided me to more positive thinking. Thereafter, I feel better. I stop crying. I feel my luck is picking up and accordingly my business. Till now, she still very concerns about me. Occasionally, she will call to ask if I am doing fine. I really appreciate her help, advice and guidance. Without her, I might still be trapped in the negative world. Thanks, C....Also thanks to Guan Yin Buddha for the blessing... :)

Rude colleague

Our team leader implement cross checking system to the team. Every case that we are going to submit needs to be cross checked by another team member first.

Just now, IL brought his case to us and asked if any one of us (MC, LP or me) was free to check his case. As MC and LP were busy with their cases, I volunteered to do it for him. Well...I regretted taking the responsibility. First of all, the terrible handwriting. Secondly, some missing details in the application form. Thirdly, no counter signing on the corrections. Fourthly, his attitude.

I was checking the case like it was my own. I checked the forms and ensured all documents were attached and in place. The next thing was to ensure the accuracy of the calculations and analysis. I went into details by asking him how he derived his figures. He showed me his impatience and talked in a harsh tone. I told him not to talk to me that way while I was putting my heart checking through his case. Apparently, he didn't appreciate that. He thought the case was error-free and just wanted me to roughly go through and acknowledge that I had vetted his case. He said he gonna rush home. Hello...Neither did I have a lot of free time to do this for you!! I gonna cancel my date with bf because of your unwelcome case, F***! So infuriating! I never wanna check his case again...I just can't tolerate people who don't take pride in their work and still being yaya-papaya!

A customer who had been running away from me for past 2 months suddenly called up. I was surprised that he would call me again. He told me that his another company might need to apply for trade facility from me. Again? Last time, he told me he needed trade line too but went MIA after that. He avoided my calls till I gave up. So now what? Deep inside me, I couldn't help to wonder whether the episode would repeat or not. :p Of course, I didn't turn down the business. I still met up with him and his partners, putting the past behind. This time, I really hope to close the deal.

Unreasonable customer

I made a call to an idiot this morning. It was meant to ask him for top up for his existing loan. After explaining the details and procedure to him, I asked him when I could collect relevant documents from him. Cheapskate as he was, he asked if he would get any free gift if he signed up the loan with me. I told him that it was not our practice for business banking dept but I could offer him our organizer and calendar out of goodwill. However, as greedy as he was, he said it was very insincere of me. Apparently, he wanted something with greater value!

Hey boss, do you know how much I earn from your loan? It is miserable 1% for my overall target, ok? Do you think I am that stupid to buy you something out from my pocket just to get this small deal? You must be out of mind!!

I insisted that there wouldn't be any free gift. He then said that my colleague also called him for the loan top up earlier on, even earlier than me. He claimed that my colleague promised a free gift like consumable product. Out of doubt, I probed further. He revealed the identity of the salesperson to me. I had no idea which dept and which branch she was from. I then told him that I would check with my boss later if there was really a promotional campaign ongoing which was not to my knowledge yet. He then felt panic. He accused me that I was trying to spoil the salesperson's trick. I denied but he went on with his accusation by making such statement that "You are very bad! If you are unable to close this sales, you also shouldn't report her to your boss...you are mean!" Hey hey...Hello!!! Do you think I am that free to care about this kind of unscrupulous salesperson. This kind of people are just like worms to me. I can't be bothered with them, ok?

Seriously, I never like to deal with customer like this. For a moment, I felt like hanging up on him. I was just wasting my breath and precious time talking to a worthless customer. I stressed to him that bankers are not supposed to entice customers with presents and we are also not supposed to accept presents from customers for any reason. I told him that I didn't wanna comment about the way that salesperson closing her deals but I definitely would not choose to be like her. I have integrity. You know what he responded? I almost exploded due to that! He said "You do not have business ethic and people like you can't go far!". Fucking hell...who gave him the rights to curse people?? Who the fuck he thinks he is?? Fucker!

We ended the conversation unpleasantly. He threatened that he wanted to complain to my boss as he thought I was rude. For all I care! I gave him the number and hang up. He thought I would apologize or fear? No way, I still think I am right! You may complain to CEO or Prime Minister or President or even to God. For people who has done nothing wrong, we have nothing to be afraid of!!
