At work, we meet all kinds of people. We can get along or click with some but not all. This is natural. Today, Jas asked me why some people think both of us cannot get along with each other. I personally have nothing against him. But, we seldom interact with each other. We just do not share common interest. He is a drinker and smoker, I am not. We have different time management so we don't meet each other often in the office. We have different lunch kaki, so we have lunch separately. If I gotta lunch with all my colleagues everyday, maybe I will need to book 5 tables at a restaurant everyday? This is ridiculous!
If I know who are the people spreading the rumour about us, I will definitely confront them. I think this is a political rumour again, trying to create misunderstanding between us. In banking, the working environment is more complex. It just doesn't allow us to be simple-minded. Hey! I am not free for all these nonsense. I would rather spend more quality time with darling than wasting my energy on such things.

Zheck!
What's Singaporean best at? Zhecking on people while people blocking their way. I was zhecked by a lady behind me just now which really irritated me. In front of me, there was a old lady around 70 years old. She walked very slowly and I also had to slow down my pace. Then I heard the zhecking sound from behind. WTF! Did she mean I should knock down the old lady? Or, she was walking with her both eyes closed, zhecking at me without realising my reason? Whatever it is, this is irritating!

iPhone - my good companion
I love iPhone. It's wonderful that I can blog while on the move in the MRT. If I were to stare at the glass window reflection till I reach my destination, it should be damn boring. I wonder why there are still people not having an iPhone? No matter how good your phone is, iPhone is the BEST!

Self discipline
This week, I took 1 taxi ride and 4 MRT rides to office. That's a great improvement. I am so proud of my determination and self discipline. :) While saving on the cab fares, I have decided to reward myself with a Louis Vuitton wallet which costs about $1200. I have done the calculation:
Savings on cab fare:
$150 x 12 = $1800!!
Wow...it's sufficient for me to buy 1 wallet & 1 card holder. :p

Tough but she made it!!
Today, I would like to congratulate a friend. She is the strongest girl that I have ever known in my life. She suffered a great loss of her closest kin last April. She had been to the darkest period of her life and has finally 'survived'. She always says it's all thank to her family and friends who have been showering her with lots of care & love. But, I think she should thank herself too, for giving herself another chance to live. Gal, congrats! We are happy for you and we know he will too. :)

Perpectually in deficit
Few days ago, Ken called to request a loan of $280 from me, saying that his customer delaying payment and thus causing him problem to pay for his commitments. I ended the call with an excuse that I was entering into a lift and would call him back. But I never returned his call. He called me a few times after that yet I purposely missed his calls, hoping that he will understand I am rejecting his request.
I helped him once with his financial problem few years ago. At first, I thought it was just a temporary issue. Later, I realized it was not. He was just earning less than his commitments. He needed to borrow constantly in order to cover his shortfall. Then, I advised him to sell away his car and downgrade from condo to HDB. I stopped lending him money when he dishonored his first cheque payment to me. I chased him very tightly for my money back. In the end, I finally got back my money. The moment he cleared his debt to me, I disregarded him as friend. I was surprised that he actually called up again lately for a loan. He thought I would be a fool for second time? By now, I hope he should know that I won't.

Wan Chai Hong Kong Tea Room
I am now having dinner with darling here, the first impression is not good as the waitress is very rude. The food hasn't been served yet while I have decided to add it to my black list. Bad service quality really turns me off! I will not want to spend money at a place where nobody appreciates me as a customer.
Well...The food is just alright, not impressive. So I guess this should be my first & last visit here.

Quit taxi
I am trying to quit taxi. My expenses had increased in a big sum in 2009 due to that. In 2010, taxi fares are classified as one of the unnecessary spending items in my book. Firstly, I will reduce taxi rides for leisure purpose, following by daily taxi rides to office. Why am I cutting down my expenses? Because my bank is 'planning' to reduce my income which the plan shall be revealed tomorrow.

Buddha's advice
Buddha's advice to me:
1. No change of job
2. No pregnancy else there will be danger
3. Travelling has to be delayed so no honeymoon for us for now
Danger? Sounds serious, right? We better heed the advice then.

Review of 2009
Looking back at my 2009 resolution. I am quite proud of myself for 60% achievement rate:
1. I attended 2 cooking sessions with Mervyn.
2. I got promoted twice a year and pay increment as well.
3. I passed 5 CLSB modules and left with 3 modules.
4. I signed up with True Fitness for 2-year membership and have started work-out at my best effort.
5. I have earned and saved more money.
6. I have increased my share portfolio with potential stocks.
7. I finally got married!
Despite the above achivements, I failed to accompany my family to Adelaide last August for my youngest sister's graduation as I had to cope with both work & wedding preparation.
I also failed to getaway with hubby in 2009. We only went for 2 short trips in first half of the year, Phuket & Rawa island. We were too busy during second half year. We had ROM in June 09 and customary wedding in Dec 09.
Lastly, I did not manage my overtime tightly too. I still over-worked in 2009.
Overall, I am still happy with myself in 2009. It was a great year to me. I hope 2010 will be better. Let's see! :)

New year, new start
2010 marks a new chapter for me. I completed my traditional wedding ceremony. I officially belong to Tan's family now. I have more family members. I also have more obligations & responsilities as a daughter-in-law and wife. This also means I should have a longer resolution for 2010! I am welcoming this year with lots of enthusiasm & positivity. I hope I can cope well with additional roles & responsibilities. My target deadline for new resolution: 15-Jan-2010. Have you written yours? If not, why not starting one. Be courageous to set goal for yourselves and be determined to fulfil them all. Well, if not all, at least 60%.
Happy new year! Wishing 2010 a great year ahead to everyone! May all of us blessed with lots of health, fortune, luck & love!
